Australia Builds Around A Carbon Tax
On July 1 2012 Australia will introduce a highly controversial carbon tax which will see high carbon emitting industries deal with higher costs. There is a lot of speculation that these additional costs will simply be passed on to the consumers and that house hold budgets will be affected especially with electricity costs rising. The federal government has counted this with compensation packages; but a lot of individuals are looking at ways that they can reduce their energy needs and become less reliant on the central power grid.
Apart from turning to wind power, solar power and solar hot water, people are also looking to make their building better insulated and less reliant on additional heating or cooling. For this purpose, more and more people are turning to alternative building materials such as rammed earth walls.
